As it is National Grief Awareness Week, and the holidays can be particularly difficult for those grieving, I am sharing my own personal experience and what I've learned about grief since losing our only child, and dear son, Nate. Grief is such a complicated experience and I never thought I could survive the loss of Nate... I really didn't think I would survive. It is a pain that resonates so deep in the soul. That being said, I have learned a few things that have helped us navigate this experience since our son passed in January 2022. Not to say that this would help others like it has helped us, but I thought it would be worth sharing:
I don't know if this message helps any grievers out there; I hope it does. I know that grieving is such an individual process but this is what has helped me during the darkest time of my life. I am always available to talk if you are interested. You can reach me through Nate's Place. Hang in there and NEVER GIVE UP, as our son told so many.
Happy Holidays
Love, Heidi

With the right care, we can all thrive, improve our well-being, achieve stable mental health and lead meaningful lives.
Your generosity is much appreciated! The Americas Foundation was established in 1985 by the late Ambassador Theodore E. Gildred whose intention was to fund various nonprofits in the United States, including those with a medical and family welfare focus.
