Helping at-risk teens and young adults struggling with substance use and/or mental health challenges

A Wellness and Recovery Community
with a Drop-In Center for Teens and Transitional Aged Youth

THE NEED

  • California youth experience some of the highest rates of mental health issues and substance use disorders (SUDs) in the nation, with Ventura County’s rates nearly double the state average.
  • Over 75% of young adults in California experience anxiety, more than half experience depression, nearly a third (or 1 in 3) experience suicidal thinking and 16% self-harm.*
  • In Ventura County, more than 200 people die each year from opioid overdoses.

It’s time to take back control.

Nate’s Place counteracts the mental health challenges our youth face, promoting long-term health and recovery by providing cost-free, evidence-based behavioral health services and transportation for Ventura County’s most vulnerable and at-risk youth.

We build community.

Nate’s Place is the only organization in Ventura County that addresses a critical gap in mental health and SUD treatment access through our innovative combination of services that help youth fight back.

Our drop-in center for teens and transitional adults is the only one in our area that provides free transportation to and from our facility.

Every week we receive inquiries and referrals from probation officers, therapists, psychiatrists, schools, and child protective workers, underscoring the critical need of our community.

We are at capacity and we need your support to expand our reach.

Your Mission

In honor of Nate’s life, we encourage you to join our efforts to support our youth in overcoming mental health challenges and SUDs. We are at a critical time in our nonprofit’s growth. In order to meet the extensive need in our community, we must secure additional financial support. Hundreds of young lives depend on it.

Nate’s story isn’t over. Let’s continue it together.

“Our son is loving your program so much! We are starting to see the old him come back to us. He looks forward to going there every day, and told me he doesn't have time to have "bad thoughts" because he is staying so busy and active with you guys. Thank you! You are helping so many people and I just wanted you to know the positive impact you are having. I hope you don't mind me saying that your son Nate's legacy is living on, through each and every person you are helping. I'm eternally grateful for Nate and you guys.”
